Sensei Dargie has been involved with martial arts since he was a child in Ontario where he first studied Judo. Moving across the country to beautiful Alberta he continued his education in the Japanese martial arts where he won the Alberta Provincial Championship in Judo.

It was in Alberta he was first introduced to Jishin-Ryu Jiu-Jitsu and trained under Shihan Chris Bissett; later taking over operations of the Bissett Jiu-Jitsu Downtown Dojo and Calgary arm of the Executive Protection Group before starting his own school.

He has had the pain and privilege of training with members of the RCMP, Calgary Police Service Tactical Team, Drug Unit, and other constabulary; as well as members of the Canadian Forces, Calgary EMS, the Mount Royal College Criminology Department and martial artists from around the world in various disciplines.

Michael brings a unique perspective to the martial arts thanks to a wide and varied background in adult education, entrepreneurialism as well as minor sport and volunteerism.
